Satkhira: A physically challenged man was tragically killed following a violent altercation with his brothers and nephews over a land dispute in the Pakhimara Kheyaghat area under Shyamnagar upazila this morning. The victim, Quader Morol, 65, was a resident of the village and the son of the late Khatib Ali Morol.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, there had been a long-standing dispute between Quader Morol and his brothers, Mosharraf Morol, Ahed Morol, and Rafiqul Morol, over a piece of land where their dwelling house is situated. The disagreement escalated into a heated altercation earlier today. During the confrontation, Quader Morol was allegedly punched by his brothers and nephews on his neck, stomach, and chest, causing him to lose consciousness.
He was immediately rushed to the Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead. Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station, Md Humayun Kabir, stated that legal proceedings are currently underway in connection to the case.
