Dhaka:A land-related dispute may have led to the recent attack, vandalism, and looting at New Gini Properties in the ECB Chattar area, according to DMP Joint Commissioner Md Mahidul Islam.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the DMP official suggested that the incident might have stemmed from a disagreement between groups over land possession and dispossession. The matter is still under investigation, and further questioning is needed to determine the exact cause of the attack.
Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident. Officers from Cantonment Police Station, including the Officer-in-Charge, investigation inspector, and operations inspector, responded quickly to the scene. Two individuals were apprehended on-site, and another was arrested later that night. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mamun, a resident of Gafargaon living in Bhashantek slum; Aslam, an autorickshaw driver from Tangail; and Munna, also residing in the Bhashantek slum. The identities of the attackers are still under investigation.
The DMP official stated that police are working diligently to respond to incidents in the area and identify those involved. There is no information regarding any extortion demands related to the incident, and it appears to be a dispute between groups over land. Further investigation will provide more clarity on the parties involved.
