Land dispute related to Dhalkebar-Sitamadhi Transmission Line settled

The land dispute concerning the Dhalkebar-Sitamadhi 400/220 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line has been settled.

The dispute taking place since a long time was settled after Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, carried out an onsite visit of the area today and took the initiative in resolving the dispute related to compensation of the land.

Minister Khadka resolved the problem after holding discussion with stakeholders about the dispute over additional two-kilometer Right of way of the transmission line.

With this, an understanding was reached to start the construction of the transmission line immediately.

On the occasion, Minister Khadka directed the bodies concerned to complete different works including testing and commissioning within 15 days as 400/220 kV (315 MVA) transformer has already been installed in Dhalkebar sub-station.

It may be noted that an agreement has been reached at the Nepal-India Joint Technical Mechanism whereby Nepal could export 1,000 MW electricit
y to India after the installation of the transformers.

Meanwhile, Minster Khadka also inspected the Dhalkebar sub-station today itself.
