Dhaka: Land and Foods Adviser Ali Imam Majumder has instructed the district administration to prioritize operations aimed at reclaiming encroached Khas lands. This directive was issued during a views exchange meeting with officials responsible for Khas land management, held at the circuit house today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Majumder emphasized the necessity of recovering encroached Khas land and urged legal measures against those responsible for encroachment. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin and attended by UNOs, Assistant Commissioner (land), and other land office assistants.
Majumder highlighted that the land ministry holds ownership of the Khas lands, and it is the responsibility of the DC, UNO, AC land, and relevant officials to safeguard this public property. He pointed out that certain individuals exploit their influence to occupy Khas land, while others use forged documents to seize it.
The adviser instructed the officials to initiate legal proceedings against encroachers, regardless of the method used for encroachment.
