Labour Reform Commission: The Labour Reform Commission today submitted its report to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna. The submission was confirmed by Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the interim government established an 18-member Labour Reform Commission, led by Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS). The commission’s members include notable figures such as Dr Mahfuzul Haque, Dr Jakir Hossain, Tapan Dutta, and Advocate AKM Nasim, among others, representing various sectors and expertise.
The commission’s other members are M Kamran T Rahman, Shakil Akhter Chowdhury, Taslima Akhter, Mustafa Al Hossain Akil, Barrister Nihad Kabir, Syed Nasim Manzur, Fazle Shamim Ahsan, ANM Saif Uddin, Faruk Ahmad, Annana Rahman, Ariful Islam, Anwar Hossain, and Md Rajekuzzaman Ratan. The diverse backgrounds of the commission members reflect a wide range of expertise and perspectives aimed at reforming the labor sector in Bangladesh.
