Khulna: Khulna University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim announced that the university is making significant progress towards obtaining academic accreditation, with the goal of enhancing the quality of higher education and achieving international recognition.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC made these remarks during a workshop titled “Program-Level Accreditation, BAC Accreditation, and Standard-4 Curriculum,” which was organized by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). He emphasized the global trend among leading universities to seek accreditation, stating that it is essential for raising the standard of education and gaining global credibility. Khulna University is prioritizing this process.
To facilitate and monitor the accreditation process, KU is developing specialized software that will provide real-time access to relevant data, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency. The VC also emphasized the need for teachers to assume increased responsibility in supporting the accreditation efforts from their respective roles.
The workshop included presentations by IQAC Director Prof Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman and Additional Directors Prof Dr. Md. Salah Uddin, Prof Dr. Md. Wasiul Islam, and Prof Dr. S. M. Towhidur Rahman. They offered insights into the structure, stages, and evaluation techniques involved in the accreditation process.
Additionally, Prof Dr. Mustofa Mahmud Hasan, Director of IQAC at Khwaja Younus Ali University, provided a detailed discussion on BAC accreditation and the development of the Standard-4 curriculum. Faculty members from relevant disciplines at KU actively participated in the workshop.
