Khulna: Khulna University (KU) has entered into two separate Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), focusing on the Business Administration (BA) and Human Resource Management (HRM) disciplines.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoUs were formalized at a ceremony held at 11:00 am at the university’s administrative building. The agreements were signed by KU Treasurer Professor Dr. Md Nurunnabi and ICMAB Vice-President S M Jahir Uddin Haider, representing their respective organizations.
Dr. Nurunnabi stated that the MoUs aim to build a strategic partnership between KU and ICMAB, targeting the enhancement of human resource development and the production of skilled professional cost and management accountants in the country.
As part of the agreements, students at KU will benefit from course exemptions in the ICMAB CMA programme. Graduates with a BBA from the BA discipline and those with a BBA in HRM will qualify for exemptions, provided they meet certain conditions. Additionally, students pursuing the CMA programme concurrently with their BBA studies will receive subject-wise exemptions if they achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
The MoUs also outline provisions for collaborative research, training programmes, seminars, and workshops, all aimed at improving the quality of accounting and audit education.
