Leaders and activists of Kishoreganj district unit of Krishak League today harvested paddy of a poor farmer of Karimganj upazila today.
Under the supervision of Kishoreganj district Krishak League President Ahmed Ullah and General Secretary Anwar Hossain Bachchu, leaders and workers cut the paddy of one acre of land of farmer Ramzan Mia of Haor of Gerajur of Karimganj Upazila.
They also threshed the paddy and reached those to the farmer's 'gola' (grain storage), said a press release of Krishak League here today.
Bangladesh Krishak League President Agriculturist Samir Chanda inaugurated the voluntary paddy cutting programme.
He said when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stays in power, she along with Krishak League always stands by farmers.
On the other hand, when BNP-Jamaat was in power, farmers were killed and when they don't stay in power, they set fire on farmers' paddy storages.
Krishak League Vice-Presidents Sheikh Md Jahangir Alam, Agriculturist Dr Nazrul Islam and Md Abul Hossain, Joint General Secretary Bishwanath Sarker Bitu, Organizing Secretaries Gazi Jasim Uddin, Asauddzaman Biplab and Agriculturist Dr Muhammad Habibur Rahman Mollah were present, among others.
