Kosovo Envoy Pays Courtesy Call on BSTI DG

Dhaka: A delegation led by Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh, Lulzim Plana, paid a courtesy call on SM Ferdous Alam, director general (DG) of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, the Kosovo Ambassador and BSTI DG engaged in discussions regarding the activities and working methods of the national standards organisations of both countries. They emphasized the critical role that standards organisations play in ensuring the quality of products and services.

The meeting also focused on strengthening trade relations between Kosovo and Bangladesh. This includes exploring opportunities for expanding trade through mutual recognition of quality certificates and enhancing cooperation in the standard-setting process. Such collaboration is expected to facilitate and accelerate bilateral trade in the future.

The BSTI DG expressed gratitude to the Kosovo ambassador and shared information about BSTI's ongoing initiatives. These initiatives include the development of standards and norms, advancements in metrology, and the modernization of testing laboratories.
