Chittagong: The government of Bangladesh and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Republic of Korea, signed the Record of Discussion (RoD) and Terms of Reference (ToR) today for a $2 million grant for the project "Ex-Post Management Project for Enhancing the Vocational Training Program of TTC, Chittagong". This Project will be implemented by the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment. KOICA will provide amounting US$ 2.00 million as a grant to implement the Project.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Project aims to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Center (BKTTC) in Chittagong by constructing a new 2-story Academic Building with a 6-story foundation to replace the outdated existing facility, said an ERD press release. It will further strengthen the quality of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs at the center and contribute to the sustainable economic development of Bangladesh by fostering highly skilled technical manpower.
The implementation period of the Project will be from 2026 to 2028. Masuma Akter, Additional Secretary and Wing Chief (Asia, JEC and FandF), Economic Relations Division (ERD) on behalf of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Jihoon Kim, Country Director, KOICA on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea jointly signed the Record of Discussion (RoD) and Terms of Reference (ToR) of the project.
