KMP Intensifies Efforts to Curb Crime in Khulna City

Khulna: Members of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) have been working tirelessly to improve law and order and curb crimes in Khulna city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a KMP official stated that the police have intensified their efforts against criminal activities, including mob violence, extortion, robbery, abduction, drug trading, killing, and oppression of women and children. Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Media and Public Relations Division of the KMP, Khondokar Hossain Ahmad, emphasized that the KMP is taking prompt actions to ensure public security.



The KMP sources revealed that police arrested 87 individuals, including 46 FIR accused, from September 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025. ADC Khondokar Ahsan Ahmad reported that police have solved five killing cases related to easy bike and rickshaw van thefts and arrested 16 individuals.



ADC Ahmad mentioned that the KMP is working to uncover the mystery behind two killing cases and is providing awareness and security training to Easy Bike and other battery-run rickshaw drivers under the supervision of KMP Deputy Commissioner (Traffic).



Speaking to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zulfiqar Ali Haider, Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police, stated that KMP played a role in controlling the law and order situation during crises. The KMP chief highlighted the need for collective efforts to maintain law and order in Khulna city and underscored the importance of security awareness at both individual and institutional levels alongside police initiatives.
