Gazipur: Forward Rakib Hossain delivered an impressive performance with a four-goal spree as Bashundhara Kings secured a commanding 7-2 victory over Fakirerpool Young Men's Club in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football match at Shaheed Barkat Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rakib scored in the 22nd, 68th, 77th, and 77th minutes, showcasing his formidable striking abilities. His contributions were complemented by goals from Asror Gavurov (36th), Foysal Ahmed Fahim (38th), and Rafiqul Islam (47th), giving Kings a 3-1 lead at halftime.
Fakirerpool's goals came from midfielder Shanto Tudo in the 33rd minute and defender Titas Das in the 52nd minute. Despite their efforts, Fakirerpool could not match the prowess of the Kings on the field.
With this victory, Bashundhara Kings advanced to the second position in the league standings, accumulating 28 points from 16 matches. Fakirerpool remains in the eighth position with 16 points after playing the same number of matches.
