Khalilur Rahman Embarks on Strategic Trip to Enhance Bangladesh-China Relations

Beijing: Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman has begun a three-day official visit to China, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing high-level engagements between the two countries. Upon his arrival in Beijing, he was welcomed by Bangladesh Ambassador to China Md Nazmul Islam and Chinese Foreign Ministry Consul General Wei Huaxiang.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Rahman is accompanied by a delegation that includes Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun. The visit’s agenda includes a significant bilateral meeting scheduled with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The meeting will take place on May 6 at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing.



In addition to the meeting with Wang Yi, Dr Rahman is expected to engage with the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and other senior Chinese leaders. The discussions will cover issues of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and regional cooperation, which are key focal points of the visit.
