Chattogram: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has urged the youths to work devotedly with their talents and strength to shape the country as an ideology-based state. ‘Youth and juveniles must involve themselves in nation-building activities as the country is gradually going towards turning itself into an ideology-based state,’ he said. The adviser made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the annual mahfil and certificate-giving ceremony of As-Sunnah Model Madrasha held at Well Park Residence in GEC Crossing area.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Religious Affairs Adviser mentioned that the interim government is working to hold a free, fair, and neutral election in a festive manner next February, which would be acceptable to all. ‘And we will say goodbye after handing over power to the winning party and the country will never return back to the Dark Age,’ Dr. Khalid said.

The adviser emphasized the importance of harmonizing general and religious education, stating that ‘dacoits and mastans will be produced from educational institutions if religion is detached from the education system.’ He noted that society could be changed positively if religious education is synchronized with modern education, warning otherwise people may step into immoral paths.

Dr. Khalid asserted that those aligned with Allah should be given the responsibility to run the country in order to establish a nation free from bribery, interest, corruption, and extortion. Anowarul Islam Azhari, the chief adviser of the As-Sunnah Model Madrasha and Pesh Imam of Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, presided over the function.

Prof. Dr. Momtaz Uddin Quadery, a teacher of the Islamic Studies Department of Chittagong University, Prof. Humayun Kabir Khalavi, Chairman of Ummah Foundation Mufti Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of the Allama Abul Khayer Foundation Moulana Suhail Saleh, and Khatib of Court Hill Jame Mosque Moulana Sheikh Nasir Uddin spoke at the function as special guests. Later, the Religious Affairs Adviser distributed certificates among the successful students in the annual examination of the Hifj Department of the Madrasha.
