Dhaka: BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is currently receiving advanced medical care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital in the city, according to her personal physician and BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Zahid informed reporters that Begum Zia is undergoing treatment in the ICU, where the highest level of care has been ensured. She is receiving all necessary medical support for a critically ill patient. During a press briefing in front of the hospital, Dr. Zahid urged the public not to be misled by rumors regarding her condition. He stated, “Khaleda Zia is under treatment. I sincerely request everyone not to pay attention to any rumors about her.”
When asked for further details about her latest condition, Dr. Zahid declined to provide specifics, citing medical ethics. He emphasized that as a doctor, he is not permitted by medical science to disclose everything publicly, even if he wants to, due to the patient’s rights and privileges.
Dr. Zahid assured the public that Khaleda Zia is regularly receiving treatment and is genuinely responding to it.
