Dhaka: The election to the Executive Committee (EC) of the Khulna District Sports Association (KDSA) is set to take place on September 12. This announcement follows the release of the election schedule by Erufa Sultana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) of Khulna, who is serving as the Election Commissioner for the event. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the election will fill several key positions within the KDSA, including four vice-presidents, one general secretary, one additional general secretary, two joint secretaries, one treasurer, and thirteen executive members. Additionally, two executive member posts are reserved for general secretaries of upazila sports associations, while two posts are allocated for women. The election process includes a period for objections or applications for corrections to the draft voter list, which will be accepted from 10 am to 4 pm on August 20 at the office of the Election Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) in Khulna. A hearing for these objections will occur from 10 am to noon on August 23 at the Election Commissioner's office, with the final voter list being posted on the KDSA notice board at 4 pm on August 24. Nomination papers, available for Tk 2,000 each, will be distributed on August 30 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Election Commissioner's office. Candidates must submit their nomination papers between noon and 4 pm on September 1 at the same location. The scrutiny of these papers is scheduled for 2 pm to 4 pm on September 3 in the conference room of the Khulna Deputy Commissioner's office. The draft list of candidates will be displayed at noon on September 4 on the KDSA notice board. Candidates are permitted to withdraw their nominations from 10 am to noon on September 6 at the Election Commissioner's office. The final candidate list will be published at noon on September 7 on the notice boards of both the Khulna Deputy Commissioner's office and the KDSA office. V oting will occur from 8 am to 4 pm on September 12 at the Khulna District Stadium building, with the vote count and announcement of unofficial results following the close of voting.
