The Khulna City Corporation (KCC) authorities have fixed 141 spots in the city for slaughtering sacrificial animals and requested the city dwellers to use those places during the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

A total of 141 spots have been fixed in the KCC area for slaughtering sacrificial animals. The list of the spots had already been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) last week, KCC officials told BSS today.

While talking to BSS, the Veterinary Officer of KCC, Dr. Peru Gopal Biswas said everyone should sacrifice animals on the 141 designated spots.

At least 62 vehicles of KCC will be engaged in removing the garbage of the sacrificial animals before 8:00 pm on Eid day.

“A campaign will be carried out from three days ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha to raise awareness so that people feel encouraged to slaughter their sacrificial animals at the places fixed by the city corporation authorities,” he said.

The designated slaughtering grounds will have butchers, cleaning staff as well as an ‘Imam’ to conduct the slaughtering of sacrificial animals on Eid day.

KCC staff will be deployed for two days from Eid ul Azha to clean animals’ garbage to ensure an environment-friendly atmosphere in the city.
