Khulna:Language Movement veteran M Nurul Islam Dadu Bhai was at the forefront of all struggles for democracy and people's emancipation, stated Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manju made these remarks at a doa mahfil organized by the BNP at PTI Jame Mosque in the city on Wednesday. The event marked the sixth death anniversary of Dadu Bhai, who was the founding president of Khulna city BNP, a freedom fighter, and a former Member of Parliament.
Manju highlighted Dadu Bhai's significant contributions to the Language Movement, the autonomy movement, and the Liberation War. He also praised the veteran leader's courage, determination, and lifelong commitment to democratic struggles.
Earlier, BNP leaders and activists visited Dadu Bhai's grave at Tutpara Graveyard, where they offered prayers for the eternal peace of his departed soul. Following the doa mahfil, party leaders met with his family members to enquire about their well-being.
