Dhaka: Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman has stated that the heroes of the July Uprising are a symbol of national pride and will be remembered with reverence as long as Bangladesh exists. ‘No one can erase their memory,’ he said while speaking as the chief guest at the poetry recitation event ‘Lal July er Kobita’ (Red July Poetry), held at the Central Shaheed Minar today. The event was dedicated to honoring the national heroes of the July Uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Attorney General reflected on the July movement, saying, ‘We do not want to return to the days when police filed false cases in the names of innocent people, abducted them from their homes and killed them in cold blood.’ He emphasized that the July Uprising has pulled the nation out of darkness and set it on a path toward justice and enlightenment.

He further emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the uprising, stating, ‘We must honor these national heroes with lifelong respect. It is our duty to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and to uphold their sacrifices in our national memory.’ The Attorney General also expressed hope for a just future, asserting, ‘The rule of law will be established in tomorrow’s Bangladesh. No innocent person will be imprisoned. We must remain vigilant so that no fascist forces can rise again. That is the lesson the martyrs of the July Uprising have left us.’

This cultural program was organized by the General Cultural Activists and Artists’ Society, commemorating the July uprising martyrs and fighters.
