Islamabad: The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad today observed the July Uprising Day with due solemnity, paying tribute to the martyrs and expressing solidarity with their families. The commemoration aimed to honor the sacrifices made and to reflect on the historical significance of the uprising.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the day’s programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by High Commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain Khan, as detailed in a press release. The observance included a recitation from the Holy Quran, a moment of silence to honor the martyrs, and the reading of messages from the President and the Chief Adviser.
During the event, the High Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective efforts to eradicate all forms of discrimination within state-run institutions. A documentary was also screened to highlight the events and significance of the July Uprising.
The gathering saw participation from officials and employees of the mission, members of the Bangladesh community residing in Islamabad, and local Pakistanis. Special prayers were offered, seeking eternal peace for the martyrs and continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the nation, the release added.
