Dhaka: 'July Oikyo', a coalition of organisations formed based on the July Uprising, has declared a sit-in programme on the day of 'Dhaka lockdown' programme called by Awami League (AL), whose activities have been banned in the country, on November 13. Chief organizer of the 'July Oikyo' Mosaddeq Ali Ibne Mohammad announced the programme this noon at a press conference at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mosaddeq stated that they will hold protest processions in Dhaka, Chattogram, Barishal, and Sylhet, demanding the death penalty of Sheikh Hasina and the implementation of the 'July National Charter.' He expressed concern that even one year after the July Uprising, discussions about the Awami League, which he referred to as a killer and militant organization, are still necessary.
