Gazipur: National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam announced at a street rally in Gazipur city that the July charter and July declaration must be fully implemented by August 5. The rally, held at the historic Bhawal Rajbari road, saw Nahid emphasizing the importance of these documents, declaring, “There is no alternative to the July charter and July declaration.It is our clear message.”
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid pointed to the recent publication of the draft of the July charter by the government. He expressed the NCP’s demand for the complete implementation of the charter, stating that they were not satisfied with just the draft. He further stressed that the forthcoming election would be conducted based on the July charter, and the subsequent government would be obliged to enforce it.
Addressing the issue of reform, Nahid called for a national consensus to ensure that any reform measures would be effective. He underscored the need for agreement on the best path forward.
Highlighting the NCP’s outreach efforts, Nahid shared that the party has been active in 64 districts. He noted, “We have travelled Gopalganj, none can stop us. Today we are in Gazipur. We will go in every inch of land across the country. We will eliminate Mujibism. We must bring them to book.”
