Motijheel:Leaders and activists of Jatiya Jubo Shakti, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP), staged a demonstration on Sunday in front of the Department of Youth Development. They were demanding the resignation of State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque due to an alleged question paper leak in a recruitment examination.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the protestors held a sit-in to emphasize their five-point demand list. This included forming an independent committee to investigate the question paper leak, ensuring the arrest and punishment of those responsible, and addressing issues of politicization and irregularities in recruitment to promote merit-based appointments. They also called for an end to harassment in verification processes and the manipulation of viva voce marks, along with the publication of a government action plan for youth employment and development.
The protest came after the recruitment test for assistant upazila youth development officer was postponed on Saturday when allegations surfaced about a question paper leak. In response to the incident, job seekers blocked a road in Shahbagh, a central area in the capital.
In light of these events, the Ministry of Youth and Sports established a five-member committee to investigate the allegations after the question papers were reportedly circulated on social media.
