Rangpur: The joint forces have arrested Jubo League leader Nur Alam Rinku from the city’s bus terminal area early this morning as part of the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt (ODH). “Arrested Nur Alam Rinku is the organizing secretary of Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo League,” Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataur Rahman informed Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) this afternoon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rinku was detained in relation to a case filed concerning the attacks on processions during the anti-discrimination student-people’s movement in the city amid the July-August uprising. Following the fall of Hasina’s regime, which was accused of committing genocide during the uprising, Rinku had been in hiding.

The joint forces managed to apprehend Rinku based on a tip-off received about his whereabouts at the city’s bus terminal area. The OC further stated that, after completing the necessary legal processes, Rinku will be presented before the local court in the afternoon.
