JU Vice-Chancellor Embarks on 5-Day Official Visit to China

Dhaka: Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU), Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, has departed for China on a five-day official visit. He is part of a 20-member delegation led by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Professor Dr S M A. Faiz.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation is visiting China at the invitation of the Chinese government. During their stay, they will tour several prominent Chinese universities, including Yunnan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and Sun Yat-sen University. The visit aims to explore potential Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) focusing on bilateral cooperation in education and research.



The press release signed by acting Director of JU’s Public Relation Office, Mohammad Mahiuddin, confirmed that Professor Ahsan will also meet with university authorities to discuss collaborative opportunities. Additionally, he will engage with provincial education authorities, museums, cultural centers, and other institutions in the provinces of Yunnan, Hubei, and Guangdong.



Professor Ahsan is expected to return home on July 11, 2025.
