Jahangirnagar university: Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan today inaugurated the road development works of the university and laid the foundation stone of 'Shaheed Habibur Rahman Kabir Sarani' under the university's Further Development Project. The event took place on the university campus at around 11:30 am. Concurrently, Prof Kamrul also inaugurated a passenger shelter named after the late Chhatra Dal leader Shaheedul Islam Tushar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his speech at the ceremony, Prof Kamrul emphasized the university's stance against violence, aggression, and any unjust loss of life. He highlighted the importance of respecting diversity and differences of opinion, advocating for harmony and integrity through national unity and inclusive politics as a fundamental commitment. He also stressed the significance of personal principles, ethics, honesty, and human values over any position or status.
The programme was attended by JU Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr Md Shamsul Alam, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Sohel Rana, JU Senate member and former president of Chhatra Front Abul Kalam Azad, former JUCSU VP Ashraf Uddin Khan, JUCSU VP Abdur Rashid Zitu, and JU unit Chhatra Dal Convener Jahir Uddin Mohammad Babar, among others. Member Secretary Wasim Ahmed Anik also spoke at the event. The gathering included teachers, students, officers, employees of the university, and leaders of various student organizations. The event was moderated by Md Nasir Uddin, the Project Director of the Further Development Project.
