JU to Hold Orientation for First-Year Students on November 25

Dhaka: Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to welcome its newest cohort of students with an orientation program for first-year Bachelor (Honours) students under the 2024-25 academic session, which is the 54th batch, scheduled for November 25. The event will commence at 10:30 am at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium, as announced in a notice released today by Acting Registrar A B M Azizur Rahman.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, will grace the occasion as the chief guest. The event will also see the presence of Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr M Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Prof Dr M Abdur Rob, along with deans of faculties, directors of institutes, and the proctor.

The Director of the Students' Counselling and Guidance Centre, Prof Md Jamal Uddin, will lead the proceedings. The notice further mentioned that all classes and examinations for the 2024-25 session will be suspended on the day of the orientation to accommodate the event.
