JU Commemorates July Women’s Day with Rally and Gathering

Dhaka: Jahangirnagar University observed July Women’s Day today as part of the July Uprising programme. Marking the day, a rally began at 11:30 AM from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and concluded with a brief gathering at the Social Science Faculty premises after parading through different streets.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan addressed the event, highlighting the crucial role women played during the July and August mass uprising. He emphasized that their contributions significantly impacted the movement across the country.



Professor Ahsan announced plans to arrange a programme to honor the female students who played vital roles during the movement. The mother of martyr Alif Ahmed Siam also spoke at the gathering, along with female participants of the movement.



The event was attended by Pro-VC (Academic) Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-VC (Administration) Dr. Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M Abdur Rob, hall provosts, proctors, teachers, and students.
