Dhaka: Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S. Murshid announced that Joyeeta is set to resume its activities with a revamped appearance. The initiative's clothes, handicrafts, and other creations are anticipated to reach international markets in the future.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sharmin S. Murshid highlighted the critical role of the Joyeeta Foundation in promoting women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship development during the Joyeeta Bijoy Mela 2025 inauguration ceremony at the Joyeeta Foundation Building in Dhanmondi. She stressed the positive societal changes that occur when women become entrepreneurs, noting that the Joyeeta Bijoy Mela is an influential platform for recognizing women's creativity, hard work, and accomplishments.
The Adviser emphasized the government's initiatives and policy support aimed at enhancing women's training, market linkages, and financial inclusion as essential elements for women's empowerment. She expressed optimism that the Joyeeta Foundation would continue to support women entrepreneurs in skill development, product branding, and marketing.
Regarding the Victory Day celebrations, she noted that the event was joyously observed across all districts and upazilas during the interim government.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry, Mamtaz Ahmed, mentioned that once the Joyeeta programme is fully completed by the Public Works Department, it will provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their domestic products throughout the year. She remarked on the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs from various regions who participated in the fair.
The Joyeeta Bijoy Mela will be accessible to the public from December 18 to December 20, operating daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
