Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has greeted all Bangladeshis at home and abroad on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year 1430.
"May the Bangla New Year bring happiness and prosperity, Happy New Year-1430 to all Bangladeshis living at home and abroad," Joy said in his verified Facebook post on Pahela Baishakh on Friday.
Noting that all linguistic nations across the world have their own universal festivals, he said Pahela Baishakh is the universal festival for the Bangalees as like as the Chinese has 'Chinese New Year' and the English has 'English New Year' while the New Year is celebrated as 'Nowruz' in the countries from Iran to Central Asia.
