Dhaka: The schedule for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election has been announced, with voting set for December 22. Chief Election Commissioner Professor Mostafa Hasan made the announcement at the teachers' lounge of the Shaheed Sajid Academy Building today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the final code of conduct for the election will be published on the university's official election portal today. The draft voter list is scheduled for release on November 6, with any objections to be received and resolved on November 9 and 10. Subsequently, the final voter list will be published on November 12.
Candidates interested in participating in the election can collect nomination forms on November 13, 16, and 17, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The submission of nomination papers is set for November 17 and 18 during the same hours. The scrutiny of these papers will occur on November 19 and 20, with the preliminary list of candidates to be announced on November 23. Any objections to candidacies will be addressed on November 24, 25, and 26.
Scheduled dope tests for candidates will take place on November 27 and 30. The final list of candidates who have cleared all requirements will be published on December 3. Candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations on December 4, 7, and 8, leading to the announcement of the final list of contesting candidates on December 9.
Election campaigning, which must adhere to the code of conduct, will be permitted from December 9 to December 19. The election day voting is scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on December 22, with the results anticipated on the same day or December 23, contingent on the completion of the vote counting process.
