JICA Delegation Explores Development Project with Dhaka University

Dhaka: A three-member delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Saeri Muto, the chief advisor of Technical Education and Higher Education, met with Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan at his office. The meeting aimed to discuss potential development projects focusing on artificial intelligence, renewable energy, fintech, environment, science, and technology. These projects are intended to receive both financial and technical support from JICA to enhance skills development and capacity building for DU students and young faculty members.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DU treasurer Prof Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also attended the meeting. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan expressed his gratitude to the JICA delegation for proposing the development project. He conveyed his eagerness to collaborate with JICA and other national and international development partners to advance academic and research initiatives at the university.



Prof Dr Niaz emphasized the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Japan, expressing hope that these ties will continue to strengthen in the future.
