Dhaka: The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the match-wise officials for the league stage of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Claire Polosak and Eloise Sheridan are set to be the on-field umpires for the tournament's opening game between India and Sri Lanka, taking place in Guwahati on September 30.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kim Cotton will serve as the TV umpire while Sathira Jakir Jesy will take on the role of fourth umpire for the opener. The match referee for this showcase event will be Shandr© Fritz. Notably, the ICC has emphasized its commitment to gender equality by announcing that all matches in this prestigious tournament will be officiated by all-female match officials.
Bangladesh is scheduled to start their campaign on October 2, facing Pakistan in Colombo. The Emirates ICC Panel of Match Officials for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 includes renowned names among match referees and umpires, ensuring a high standard of officiating throughout the tournament.
