Rangpur: Rangpur district and metropolitan units of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have jointly staged a protest rally against the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the protest included a procession that started from the Press Club premises, moved through the city’s Jahaz Company intersection and City Bazar, and concluded at the Town Hall square. A short rally was subsequently held at the square.
During the rally, leaders of the two JCD chapters expressed strong condemnation of the killings of innocent Palestinians, including women and children, and highlighted human rights violations. They urged the global community to take immediate action to stop the genocide.
The event saw participation from leaders and activists of various educational institution units of JCD. The rally was presided over by Rangpur district unit convener Sharif Newaz Johar.
Key figures such as Rangpur district Jubo Dal president Nazmul Islam Naju, Metropolitan Jubo Dal senior joint convener Jahir Alam Nayan, Metropolitan JCD convener Imran Khan Sujan, and member secretary Rabiul Islam Robi addressed the gathering.
Additionally, JCD units from Begum Rokeya University, Mahiganj College, and Rangpur Government College also organized marches and rallies on their respective campuses to protest against Israel’s actions.
