Khulna: Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has demanded a campus without fear and a safe and education-friendly environment in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). Besides, it demanded punishment of the offenders through a fair investigation. The organization made this demand in a statement signed by JCD Office Secretary Md Jahangir Alam today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the statement emphasized the expectations of the general students of KUET, calling for a campus without fear and a safe, fair, and session-free natural academic environment, along with a cordial atmosphere among the students. It highlighted a recent unpleasant incident at KUET, where some students collected Chhatra Dal forms outside the campus due to the prohibition of politics within the campus. However, upon returning to campus, these students were reportedly beaten in a planned manner.

The statement pointed out that video footage of the incident is available on various media and social media platforms. Following the altercation, some unruly students clashed with local businessmen, leading to the spread of the incident both inside and outside the campus. In the aftermath, KUET teachers were also insulted by the mob leaders, an event described as sad and unethical.

Chhatra Dal has called for a fair trial with an impartial investigation into each incident that occurred, seeking justice for those affected.
