Dhaka: Jatra performances titled 'Mayer Chokhe Jol' and 'Lalon Fakir' are set to be showcased tomorrow at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 'Sangeet Opera' from Sahapara in Magura will present the jatra 'Mayer Chokhe Jol' at 3:00 pm. The jatra has been scripted by Ranjan Debnath and directed by Sujay Saha. Later in the evening, at 6:30 pm, 'Bangashree Opera' from Gandaria in Dhaka will perform 'Lalon Fakir', with the script written by Devendranath and directed by Kabir Khan.
As part of the month-long jatra performance series commemorating the month of Victory, 'Nihoto Golap' was staged today at the Shilpakala Academy. This festival is organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and managed by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The festival began on December 1 and features registered jatra troupes from various regions of the country, with performances scheduled every day at 6:30 pm until December 31.
