Dhaka: Professor Hiroaki Shiga of Yokohama National University of Japan paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam today at the latter's office of the university.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by the Provost of Salimullah Muslim Hall and Professor of Japanese Studies at DU, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun, along with the Chairman of the Japanese Studies Department, Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam. During their discussion, the participants exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, focusing on student and faculty exchange, the development of research infrastructure, and the strengthening of international collaboration.
The DU VC reaffirmed the University of Dhaka's commitment to enhancing international research partnerships and expressed optimism about undertaking joint initiatives in the future. Concurrently, Professor Hiroaki Shiga demonstrated a strong interest in expanding research and academic cooperation between the two institutions.
