Rajshahi: Professor Dr. Kao Yamada of Gunma University, Japan, paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at the beginning of the meeting at the Vice-Chancellor's office, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak presented an honorary crest to Professor Dr. Kao Yamada. The discussions encompassed various aspects of mutual cooperation and focused on further strengthening bilateral relations between Gunma University and RUET.
The RUET Vice-Chancellor highlighted various existing and potential areas of cooperation between RUET and Japanese universities. He emphasized enhancing cooperation in joint research, undertaking joint projects, teacher and researcher exchange, student exchange, and organizing joint seminars and conferences. The focus was on modern technology and innovation-based research.
The Vice-Chancellor also noted Japan's advancements in technology, innovation, and research, describing mutual cooperation with Japanese universities as crucial for the development of engineering and technology education in Bangladesh. RUET expressed interest in establishing more effective and long-term academic and research partnerships with higher education institutions in Japan.
Japanese Professor Dr. Kao Yamada praised RUET's education and research activities. He expressed interest in expanding opportunities for mutual cooperation between the two institutions. He further emphasized strengthening the relationship between the universities of the two countries through joint research, academic exchange, and technology and knowledge exchange.
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including RUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, and other prominent figures from RUET. It was hoped that this meeting would open new doors of possibility for educational, research, innovation, and technological cooperation between RUET and higher education institutions in Japan.
