Dhaka: Prof. Dr. Kawashima Hiroto from the Shibaura Institute of Technology in Japan recently visited Dhaka University (DU) to meet with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the visit involved discussions about enhancing the existing collaborative academic and research initiatives between the two institutions. The meeting provided a platform to explore potential areas of cooperation, particularly in tackling global challenges.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam emphasized the importance of expanding joint research and academic projects focusing on air pollution, environmental issues, and climate change. He highlighted the university’s commitment to partnering with prestigious global institutions to advance educational and research capabilities.
Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Science at DU, was also present during the discussions, which underscored the university’s strategic aim to foster international collaborations in various fields of study.
