The namaz-e-janaza of Azizur Rahman Musabbir, the former general secretary of the Dhaka City North unit of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, who lost his life in a terrorist attack, was held today. The solemn ceremony took place this afternoon in front of the BNP central office at Nayapaltan, located in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the janaza saw participation from leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies, as well as relatives of the deceased and people from various sections of society. During the janaza, party leaders expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist attack. They demanded the swift arrest of those responsible and called for exemplary punishment for the perpetrators.
Musabbir was shot at Tejturi Bazar in the capital’s Tejgaon area around 8 pm on Wednesday. Following the incident, he was initially taken to BRB Hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doct
ors on duty declared him dead.
In addition to Musabbir, another victim, Abu Sufian, sustained serious injuries during the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment at DMCH. In response to the incident, the victim’s wife, Suraiya Begum, has filed a case against unidentified assailants.
