Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh Delegation Meets President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

Dhaka: A delegation of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh, led by its Central President Maulana Sheikh Abdur Rahim Islamabadi, paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today. They met the President at Bangabhaban this afternoon and expressed their confidence in and good wishes for the President, a press release from the President's Press Wing said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, the delegation urged the President to consider appointing qualified Alem scholars as teachers of Islam in the country's educational institutions. The President reiterated the government's commitment to religious harmony, mutual respect, and safeguarding the religious rights of all citizens.

Expressing gratitude to the delegation, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir acknowledged the contributions of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh to the anti-fascist movement and the struggle for establishing democracy, stating that the nation would remember their efforts.
