Faridpur: Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh hosted an iftar programme with journalists in Faridpur on Monday. The discussion, doa, and iftar mahfil took place at the party’s office in the Chakbazar area of the town.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the event was presided over by Faridpur district Jamaat Ameer Md Badruddin, with Central Shura Member Professor Abdut Tawab attending as the chief guest. The gathering saw participation from notable figures, including Faridpur Press Club President Kabirul Islam Siddiqui, Central Shura Member Shamsul Islam Al Barati, and Press Club Vice President Asaduzzaman Dulal, who addressed the attendees.
Speakers at the event highlighted the significant role of journalists in nation-building. They emphasized Jamaat-e-Islami’s past collaborations with journalists and expressed the party’s intent to continue this cooperation in the future, noting their special interest in the media. The speakers called for embracing the teachings of Ramadan to lead an ideal life and condemned global oppression against Muslims, urging unity among the Muslim Ummah.
Before the iftar, a special prayer was conducted, seeking peace and welfare for the country and its people.
