Jail killing Day observed in Narail

NARAIL, - The Jail Killing Day was observed in the district

in a befitting manner today.

On November 3 in 1975, four national leaders and heroes of the country's

Liberation War -- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain Mansur Ali and

AHM Quamruzzaman -- were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.

Marking the day, district Awami League took various programmes including

hoisting flags, placing a floral wreath and holding discussion meeting in the

district.

The district Awami League unit hoisted national, party and black flags at

half-mast at the party office in the city. Besides, local AL leaders paid

homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur

Rahman and four national leaders.

District Awami League President Advocate Subas Chandra Bose, Mayor Anjuman

Ara, District Awami League Organizing Secretary Debashish Kundu Mitul, Sardar

Alamgir Hossain Alam, District Jubo League Joint Convener Farhad Hossain

Mollah, District Chhatra League President Naeem Bhuiyan, its General

Secretary Siddharth Singh Paltu, and leaders and workers of AL's associate

bodies, among others, were present.
