Jahangirnagar:Jahangirnagar University (JU) plans to introduce separate admission test questions for English-medium students, aligning with their curriculum.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was made during a meeting of the university's Academic Council, as confirmed by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Nurul Islam.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that this initiative is not a quota or reserved opportunity. English-medium students will compete with other candidates based on their marks, answering multiple-choice questions derived from their O-Level and A-Level syllabuses rather than translated questions from the Bangla-medium curriculum.
Prof Nurul further explained that while the question format will remain unchanged, the syllabus for English-medium students will differ. The Central Admission Management Committee will determine the implementation of the Academic Council's decision in the upcoming admission tests.
