Kushtia: The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia have dismissed one of its professors for remaining absent from work for a prolonged period without official approval. The dismissed teacher was identified as Professor Sipon Miah, a faculty member of the Information and Communication Technology department at the university.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the decision was taken following a resolution of the university's syndicate, the highest policy-making body of the institution. The 274th syndicate meeting, held on June 29, determined that teachers who remained absent without approval would be dismissed if they failed to rejoin their posts within 15 working days.
IU Acting Registrar Professor Dr Atiqur Rahman informed UNB that Sipon Miah's dismissal was in accordance with the syndicate's decision regarding his prolonged absence.
