Dhaka: State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain on Tuesday urged party leaders and activists to remain vigilant so that public trust in the BNP is not undermined by their actions. He emphasized the importance of practicing healthy and proper politics that reflects the aspirations and expectations of the people.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Ishraque made these remarks while speaking at a doa mahfil organized by Dhaka South City BNP at the AGB Colony in Motijheel. The event was held at noon to mark the 81st birthday of former prime minister and ex-BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, as well as the 57th birthday of her late son Arafat Rahman Koko.
BNP Standing Committee member Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi attended the doa mahfil as the chief guest. During the event, Ishraque Hossain reiterated the party’s commitment to upholding political etiquette and the lessons imparted by their leader. He stressed the importance of engaging with political opponents respectfully and ensuring that the party’s actions align with public expectations.
He further stated that the party would conduct its future activities in a manner that ensures the government formed with overwhelming public support through the democratic political process remains sustainable.
