Ishaq Dar Visits Khaleda Zia to Inquire About Her Health and Conveys Good Wishes

Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain announced that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar visited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to inquire about her health and wish her a speedy recovery.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting took place at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence ‘Firoza’ around 7 pm and lasted approximately 45 minutes. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain were present during the meeting. Ishaq Dar was accompanied by a six-member delegation, including Pakistan’s High Commissioner Imran Haider.



After the meeting, Dr Zahid briefed journalists, stating that Ishaq Dar exchanged pleasantries with the former prime minister, who is currently unwell and at home. The primary purpose of the visit was to inquire about her health and convey wishes for a swift recovery.



Ishaq Dar also extended good wishes to Khaleda Zia on behalf of Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Professor Zahid noted that discussions during the meeting included topics such as strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and bolstering the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), with no discussion on Bangladesh’s domestic politics.
