Dhaka: Ireland cricket team is set to arrive in Bangladesh tomorrow (Thursday) for a series, consisting of two Tests and three T20 Internationals. This visit marks a historic moment as it is the first time Ireland will play two Test matches in Bangladesh. Their last visit to the country was in 2023, which included one Test and three T20 Internationals.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Test series holds additional significance as veteran Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim is poised to become the first from his country to reach the milestone of 100 Test matches during this series. The tour will commence with the first Test in Sylhet, scheduled from November 11-15.
The second and final Test match will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur from November 19-23. Following the Test series, the teams will compete in three T20 Internationals, which will be held in Chattogram on November 27, 29, and December 2.
Ireland's Test squad will be led by Andrew Balbirnie and includes players like Curtis Campher, Cade Carmichael, and Paul Stirling, among others. The T20I squad will be captained by Paul Stirling, featuring notable players such as Mark Adair, Ross Adair, and Josh Little.
