Khulna: Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University, Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim, has highlighted the crucial role of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in meeting the standards set by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) to secure accreditation for the university’s academic programs. Professor Karim, who also serves as the president of the IQAC, presided over the 13th IQAC meeting virtually, held from the administrative building’s conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC was informed about the progress of various initiatives undertaken by the IQAC during the meeting. He issued directives aimed at reinforcing quality assurance mechanisms and emphasized the need for nominating discipline-based representatives to identify academic limitations and explore opportunities for development.
The meeting reviewed and approved decisions made during the 12th IQAC meeting. Discussions covered the participation of the IQAC Director and Additional Directors in training programs, the outcomes of training sessions and workshops organized by IQAC, updates on the accreditation processes, the proposed budget and expenditures, future action plans, and member suggestions.
Professor Karim stressed the importance of the cell functioning in a timely and structured manner. It was agreed that the IQAC would present quarterly plans and progress reports and hold meetings regularly.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Harunur Rashid Khan, along with Deans from various schools including Science, Engineering and Technology; Management and Business Administration; Life Science; Arts and Humanities; Social Science; and the Acting Dean of Fine Arts, were present at the meeting.
