Int’l Squash Tournament Scheduled for July in Capital

Dhaka: RFL-ASI-5th International Squash tournament is set to take place from July 26-30 in the capital city with confirmed participation from seven countries. This sporting event is anticipated to draw attention as it serves as a preparatory competition for the upcoming South Asian (SA) Games.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Brig Gen G M Quamrul Islam (Retd), the general secretary of the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, confirmed that seven countries, including host Bangladesh, have already committed to the tournament. The list of participating nations includes Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Oman, and India. Quamrul also mentioned the possibility of additional countries joining as the event approaches.



Quamrul emphasized the importance of this tournament in the lead-up to the SA Games. To further prepare for the games, the federation plans to organize a series of competitions, including the BKSP Cup Squash competition scheduled for May 28-29 in Chattogram and a national squash competition slated for August. These events are part of a broader strategy to enhance the performance of athletes ahead of the SA Games.
